Noise Gating
When PD signals occur within GIS assets, the Ultra-High Frequency signal which is emitted, if of significant level, may be detected by neighbouring sensors. This is known as cross coupling. Using IPEC's Noise Gating Sensor (NGS), the signal can be isolated and removed from the other sensors to ensure a clearer PD location. Additionally, the NGS will isolate any spurious background noise signals in the UHF frequency range, to further ensure more accurate PD detection.
