Education: Demonstrable experience designing using 3D CAD, hands on manufacturing experience, ideally with a qualification in mechanical engineering or product design.
The Role
IPEC are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic Manufacturing team. This critical role bridges the gap between new product development and manufacturing, ensuring seamless integration of new products into our operations. This hands-on position involves designing and implementing manufacturing processes, utilising both 3D and 2D CAD for industrial metal and plastic products, and operating 3D printers and CNC machines.
It is estimated that this role will be 65% hands-on manufacturing and 35% design. Key areas includes:
Hands-On Manufacturing: Engage in hands-on manufacturing of IPEC’s products. Troubleshoot and solve manufacturing issues as they arise.
Design: Utilise CAD software to create detailed 3D models and technical drawings. Develop assembly drawings and work with in-house tools and external subcontractors to manufacture designed components.
New Product Introduction (NPI): Collaborate closely with the product development team to transition new designs into full-scale production.
Process Development: Develop, implement, and optimise manufacturing processes for new and existing products. Ensure efficiency, quality and cost-effectiveness in manufacturing processes. Prepare and maintain detailed product design documentation, including bills of materials and work instructions.
